Everyone at Imageworks has been smiling a little more than usual. Is it the new espresso machine? No. The fact that the weather is finally starting to look a little more like summer? Maybe. Or is it award season again, and our work is receiving international recognition? Definitely.

Imageworks submitted several AdvanceMed Hanford projects into the Horizon Interactive Awards competition, known for honoring outstanding interactive media projects from around the world.

Imageworks was recognized for their excellence with a Silver and Bronze award for the Flash and Training categories for the AMH Workfit and AMH Meal Analyzer projects.

“Our partnership with Imageworks has been exceptional. The Imageworks professionals continue to wow us with their ability to transform our Health Education Program vision—to provide innovative, interactive web-based educational programs—into top notch applications.” Kimberly D. Conley, MS, MPH, Occupational Health Services Team Lead, AdvanceMed Hanford.

“Imageworks is proud and honored to receive this award. To have others view our work as being the ‘best of the best’ motivates us to continue working hard and having fun.” Chris Collier, Marketing Specialist, Imageworks.

The eighth annual, international competition saw just over 2000 entries from 32 countries around world including: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Martinique, Mexico, Oman, New Zealand, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, Taiwan, Turkey, and nearly all 50 of the United States of America. An international panel of judges, consisting of industry professionals with diverse backgrounds, as well as an end user panel evaluated 19 different categories ranging from online advertising to video games. The 2009 winning entries showcase the industry’s best interactive media solutions including web sites, CDs and DVDs, online ads, video and more.

Among the competition? Agencies working for companies including Rolex, Shell, HBO, Dominos, Sony and AT&T.

“The 2009 competition was an all new level for the competition,” said Mike Sauce – Founder of the Horizon Interactive Awards. “The overall quality of entries was far and away the best we have ever had and judging was very competitive. Year after year, we are amazed at the level of creativity and overall technical excellence of the entries that are recognized by the competition. They truly are the best of the best!”

The Horizon Interactive Awards holds the annual competition in early spring of each year with the winners being announced in May. For more information visit the Horizon Interactive Awards website.

As part of National Credit Union Youth Week, Gesa Credit Union held a series of workshops to educate teenagers on financial responsibility. Over 200 teens signed up for the seminars; 70 sign ups was the internal goal for success.

The reward for attending one of the seminars? Entry into one of the largest gaming events the Tri-Cities has ever seen – Gesa Games.

Gesa Games will be held at the Three Rivers Convention Center and over 400 participants are expected to attend. To promote this revolutionary event, Imageworks created a high energy, graphic intensive campaign including television and radio ads along with a Microsite.

April 7th, 2009 marked the opening of the nomination period for Refresh ‘09. The winner will receive a Refresh Award and $5,000 worth of web design ‘makeover’ services from Imageworks.

Last year’s winner was the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Cities was ecstatic with the outcome their new website redesign.

YMCA Marketing Director, Michelle Rankin said, “This new design is creative and fun; we asked for a youth friendly, yet professional looking website and Imageworks’ design team really delivered. Everything is well organized and easily accessible.”

“The YMCA needed a new website for years, but as a non-profit agency the cost was prohibitive. Rankin explained at the Refresh Contest award ceremony, ‘Five thousand dollars will go a long way toward providing scholarships for families who can’t afford to pay for YMCA activities.”

The nomination period is open from early April until May 27th with the winner being announced at the Refresh event the evening of June 12th.

The YMCA was awarded $5,000 towards a website redesign. Imageworks’ Refresh ‘08 contest asked, “Is your website stuck in 1992? Tell us who has the Columbia Basin’s worst website and we’ll design them a new one.”

Bernadette Flynn, Marketing Director for Hapo submitted the Y’s outdated website for the contest. The YMCA’s website was ultimately not the ugliest contender but was chosen for its potential to further the Y’s mission and help more local families through an improved online presence.

YMCA Marketing Director, Michelle Rankin said, “This new design is creative and fun, we asked for a youth friendly, yet professional looking website and Imageworks’ design team really delivered. Everything is well organized and easily accessible.”

The YMCA needed a new website for years, but as a non-profit agency the cost was prohibitive. Rankin explained at the Refresh Contest award ceremony, ‘Five thousand dollars will go a long way toward providing scholarships for families who can’t afford to pay for YMCA activities”.

In keeping with the YMCA’s youthful spirit, Imageworks even enlisted in the help of six year old Sophia Fetrow, the daughter of Imageworks’ staff photographer and likely the youngest graphic designer in town. Sophie provided a crayon colored rendition of the Y’s new logo which is incorporated into the design of the entire website.

“Imageworks is very proud of the help we could offer the YMCA. Everyone here at Imageworks was excited when the YMCA was announced as the winner of Refresh ‘08! We are so proud of the design for the new website, that we will be adding it to our portfolio to show to potential clients.” Chris Collier, Marketing Specialist, Imageworks.

The YMCA is giving away prizes like fleece blankets and coffee mugs to the first 20 people to visit http://www.ymcatricities.org and sign up for their email newsletter.

To further their vision of becoming the regional healthcare provider of choice, Kadlec Medical Center has partnered with Imageworks to develop innovative strategies and cutting edge marketing material. In addition to their desire to support local business and work within the community, Kadlec chose Imageworks because of the breadth and depth of available services.

Six months ago, the partnership began with the development of a strategic document called a messaging framework. The framework sets the stage for all future marketing efforts and serves as an organizational tool for internal development.

The completion of the messaging framework has lead to the execution of several campaigns and the development of nine television commercials, radio advertisements, email templates and print projects.

Simultaneously, an innovative recruiting DVD and accompanying microsite were developed and filming for a second recruiting project is under way this week.
The successful partnership is sure to result in additional collateral, so keep an eye and ear out for future campaigns!

“ImageWorks has greatly assisted Kadlec Health System with our image campaign and marketing efforts. They have successfully created innovative advertisements which capture our message and reach our target audience. We value thier creativeness and professional approach each new campaign and could not have reached this level of quality on our own.” Nan Domenici, Marketing Director, Kadlec Health System

“We are all very excited about our relationship with Kadlec. Partnering with their marketing department and internal staff pushes our creative team to produce solutions that continue to elevate Kadlec’s brand equity. I’m looking forward to what the future brings!” Rachael Drouhard, Senior Account Executive, Imageworks
